Interview With Loretta Caravello/Rockhead’s Comic Package!

I got the Limited Edition Rockhead's Comic Package in.
This comic is signed by Bruce Kulick and includes a limited edtion poster of the Rockhead's. Also included is a special Card with a piece of Eric Carr's Crazy Nights Drumskin and a Guitar Pick!

Each card is numbered and signed by Loretta Caravello!
This package is a very cool collectable…

I had the oppertunity to do a Exclusive interview with Loretta Caravello (Eric Carr's sister)!!! With the upcoming release of the Eric Carr's Rockhead's Comic Book!, she was kind enough to answer my questions about the comic book and more…

RH: Loretta, thank you for doing this interview for Rockhead's KISS Weblog.
LC: Thank you also, nice speaking to you also.
RH: Finally, after 15 years we can see the daylight of Eric Carr Rockhead's as a comic book. Can you tell me how it all happened?
LC: Well the Rockheads go back over 15 years, Eric created all the story lines and most of the Rockhead characters, while in KISS. He had a lot of prospects with different companies.
Gene was working with him to try and broker deals with some big names, ie Hanna Babara-( Flintstones, Jetsons, and also Land Mark Ent. But, those most companies usually want alot of control, and Eric at that time was a little uptight to give everything he worked hard for all those years away, he wanted some artistic control.
As the years went by after Eric passed, there were a few small projects, which I put together, but nothing big. I tried, but never really had the know how, to get it really going.
The biggest project involving the Rockheads was when Bruce took the music Eric wrote for a possible Rockheads series and put it in cd form… Rockology.
Early this year Richard Fabio ( Dyna Meecho Llc) came to me through a friend. He loved the concept and being a cartoon man himself, with a comic called Rockville station, he thought it would be nice to work with the Rockheads and bring them more into the public-eye. He is doing a great job, more projects are just around the corner.
I would love if your fans would e-mail us at ripley211@verizon.net or visit Eric Carr.com and let me know what other cool Rockheads things they would like to see in the future.
RH: What are your thoughts about that your brothers project finally will be released?
LC: There is much more to go, but now we have something to build on.
RH: Can you tell me more about how Eric worked on the creations of the Rockhead?
LC: The Rockheads are many different fun little cartoon people. There are girls, fans, managers and more then just the 4 see mainly see ( Scruffy, Slider, Clive and Punky) Each Rockheads has its own special personality. They are cute, fun and you can really find yourself in each and everyone of them.
RH: Is the story in the comic based on stories that Eric had finished or are they complete new?
LC: No Richard, created the story. But future comics will be taken from Eric's own writings and Richard will build upon that.
RH: Did you've seen the comic book as a final product?
LC: Yes it is to good to be true.

RH: Will there be more issue's of the Rockhead's Comic?
LC: Yes we are working on that now.
RH: I know that Bruce Kulick also is involved with the comic, can you tell me more about it?
LC: Bruce is a dear friend, he owns part of the Rockheads, along with Adam Mitchell. They wrote music with Eric for the series. Bruce is also signing each comic from the Limited Package, and Adam, is coming up with some amazing new music.
RH: Who did come up with the idea to also release it as a limited edition and included a part of the original Crazy Nights bass drumskin?
LC: Richard Fabio ( Dyna Meecho Llc) came up with the idea of the comic and poster. For the first limited edition we wanted to do something, really special.
My dad came across a Bass drum skin which was from Eric's silver. So I thought, lets have the fans own something of Eric's. I always liked that collectable card concept, so that is the way we went. On the back of the card, I sign and number each. These are limited to 400 pieces of 1×1 inch, they are very cool.
RH: I know that Eric would love to see his project to be released as a cartoon show on TV. Will this happen?
LC: That we would love to see, but it is hard, you need someone who really believes in the project to invest a lot, but we will never give up, it could happen.
RH: Last year you told me that there's properly some "new music" from Eric Carr been released on CD. Can you tell me more about it, is there a album coming out?
LC: When I get closer to it, but just to give you an idea, the cd consist of music Eric wrote but was unfinished, so what we did was take his files, and other musicians, ie Bruce Kulick, Ted Poley ( Danger Danger) Marcello III from the band Europe , Benny Doro, Joey from Z02 , AJ Pero (Twisted Sister). complete these songs the great part is how they co-mingle with Eric. It will be out for sure this year.
RH: What will be on it?
LC: Lots of cool stuff. LOL Ted Poley does a great rendition of "Just Cant Wait" we took Eric's music files and Ted sang with that, it is like Eric is in the studio with Ted.
The Beatles did something like that, with a John Lennon track, that found years later.
There is also a song Eric was working on when he passed, He wrote the Lyrics, well some great folks came together and wrote some awesome music and it is now complete, AJ Pero ( twisted Sister) drums on the song, John Santos will sign vocals, Marcela lll from Europe does amazing guitar work. So it is that sort of idea in mind. You guys will love it.
RH: When will it come out and where'll it be available?
LC: It will be out this year, will be available through i-tunes, ericcarr.com, amazon, MVD, lot s of places. The first 500 released will have a nice surprise inside.
We will take pre orders on the 1st 500 a month before release.
RH: I think Eric's Rockology CD was great, as was the Tale Of The Fox DVD! Will there be another DVD?
LC: Sorry no on the DVD.
RH: I loved the Eric Carr Pins and Bobble Heads that have been released. Will there be more merchandise coming out from Eric or the Rockhead's?
LC: New 4 color Eric sticks., bobbles, Rockheads sticks, a few new pins, new set of cards, with Eric's personal shots, IPOD covers, computer covers, calendars and a lot more.
RH: I've read the Eric Carr Story Book by Greg Prato, how did you get involved?
LC: He asked if I wanted to do an interview. So I did and had him ad a few little things, like my moms, poem and a forward by Eric's niece Sara (the little red head in Tale of the Fox)
That is the only involvement I had with Greg.
RH: I think Eric was the best drummer KISS ever had, I loved how he played the drums. Can you tell me more about the first time you saw your brother in action with KISS?
LC: Oooooooooooooooo my well I still can remember the roar for the crowd changing from Peter to Eric Eric, That was my brother up there. A few months before he was sitting in the house, watching TV eating his favorite Gino's ices, not knowing what we be just a few months into the future. Life is very unpredictable.
RH: I'm still a big Eric Carr fan and that's why my nickname is Rockhead. How do you feel with the fact that the fans keeping Eric's memory alive?
LC: Well first I love your name and was not sure in the beginning if you took it from Eric's Rockheads, Eric would be as thrilled as we are, you have actually keep the name out there!
The fans, are amazing, without them there would be nothing.
RH: Finally, could you please leave a message for the visitors of my Weblog?
LC: Hi KISS fans, what can I say other then Carol has always, always been a great fan of Eric's and we are grateful. He also has a lot of awesome things on his site to see, what a nice collection. Keep visiting his site, like we do, you'll never be disappointed! Soon we will interview Carol, on Eric carr.com, so all you fans can really get to know him.
RH: Loretta, I'm looking forward to the Rockhead's Comic. Once again, thank you for your time…
LC: Thank you Carol, your the best!!!

Our Final Boom @ Graspop!

On june 27/28th we got our final Boom!
Our last KISS show from the Sonic Boom Over Europe Tour 2010 was at the Graspop festival in Belgium and ended at 1:15 am.
Once again KISS played a great show, even when it was their last of this European tour, they still played their asses off. At Graspop they were still have funn and played for more than 2 hours. We hope we'll see KISS one more time in Europe in the future…
What can we say about this tour?
We had a awesome time! Seeing 5 shows in 1 month, 3 times we stood front row and 2 times second or third row. KISS had a cool stage, liked the big videowall, great pyro, played great songs and  loved the (new) stage tricks, like the bazooka during Eric's & Tommy duel solo!
We cann't believe it's all over now, we still got the feeling that we'll go to another show in a copple of days…
What a tour, what a experience!
So, check out a selection of photo's from their last gig…

Our Meet & Greet With KISS In Arnhem!!!

June 18th 2010 – Gelredome – Arnhem – The Netherlands.

A unforgetable day for us in our KISStory! This day KISS played a show in our home country and we got our second Meet & Greet with our favorite band! We did our first Meet & Greet in 2008 in Oberhausen, but this time our Meet & Greet was a special one…this time we did it as a married couple! We’ve met eachother at a KISS show in Mannheim during the Alive 35 European tour.

We arrived around 12:30 pm at the Gelredome, checked the place out and talked to a lot of fans. We had to meet Dean Snowden at 6 PM, so we did, we got our laminate and we had to check in with him at 7:30 pm at the box office. So we all got a little nervous when that time came closer. Finally Dean came and took us upstairs to the meeting room. He handed our Meet & Greet items out, as Tourbook, Poster, Guitarpicks and Signed Photo as well a circle band so that we could get in the first section on the floor at the concert later. So, all we have to do is wait till KISS would come in…

Around 8: 25 PM Doc Mcgee came in and introduced the band…Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. And the funn begun, we got our photo’s with the band taken, in total 6 (!) with the band in a great mood, Paul sung and they all made funn and jokes.

After the photoshoot was done, we had to make a line and all the members came to you, one for one, so we had time to chat, let our stuff signed and to take photo’s with them! They all were empressed as we asked them to sign our weddingdocument and when they heard that we got married just a week ago, they were stunned! Especially Paul & Eric found that very romantic… During the Meet & Greet Marina’s tattoo was filmed for Family Jewels and also they were filming for KISSology IV!

Around 9:05 PM it was all over for us. What can we say? Did we get what we came for? YES! Was it better than the one we did in 2008? YES! For us it was a special unforgettable time with the band! Here are our official KISS Meet & Greet photo’s…

Here’s our own video (edit) from the Meet & Greet, with signing session! Enjoy…

Here are some photo’s from our Meet & Greet with KISS
Gene & Me.
Gene & Marina. Me & Eric. Marina & Eric.

Me & Tommy.

Eric signs my items.

Gene signs my items.

What can we say about the show, after our Meet & Greet experience? We had good places, second row at Gene’s site. KISS where awesome! They had fun and really where in a good mood. We had some interaction with Gene & Tommy, so we enjoyed our selves. It was a very special moment for us, when they played a part of “our song” Forever… The rest of the setlist was the same, they played about 140 minutes and we had a blast!
Finally we got our KISS Sonic Boom Meet & Greet Package in! It's the same as the Platinum Package (below) but with a total different awesome T-shirt. This is our KISS Sonic Boom Platinum Tour Package, that we got in! The package include a Tourbook, Limited Numbered Print, a cool Platinum T-Shirt, 2 KISS Plectrums & Flyer

KISS Live @ Rock Am Ring 3-6-2010

After a day recovering from the 2 KISS shows in Hamburg & Oberhausen, it was time to be Boomed again at the Rock Am Ring festival on june 3th. It was only a 90 minutes drive, so we arrived around 1 PM at the festival, it was a hassle to find a parkingplace, but once we had we waited untill we could get in. The ring opened at 5 PM, we thought it would be sooner, after we checked the (merchandise) stands we walked to the first centersection before the stage. Again we stood first row! We only had to wait untill the KISS show began.

Around 9 PM KISS took over Rock Am Ring, there where many camera’s on and around the stage, because this show would be broadcast live on several TV channels in Germany. The band enjoyed themselves with this gig, it was their biggest European crowd ever…85000 people saw them today! When we looked to the back we saw people as fas as we could see.

During the show we saw Doc Mcgee walking around, talked to him a bit and we took a copple of pics with him…

KISS played the same setlist as the 2 shows before and a full show including all the tricks. When Paul had to fly, during I Was Made For Lovin’ You it looks that the cable hung a bit low, but everything went well. We had a great time again and it was awesome to see KISS play for such a large crowd. We where glad to be a part of this.
So, enjoy a selection of the photo’s I made from Rock Am Ring…

Getting Boomed In Hamburg & Oberhausen!

On may 31th, almost 2 years after their European Alive 35 tour in 2008, we drove to Hamburg (Germany) to see our first (of 5) Sonic Boom Over Europe KISS Show! After a 5 hour trip we arrived in Hamburg, checked in our hotel and went to the Color Line Arena. We had VIP Experience Tickets, went to the VIP-entrance and untill the doors went open we talked to a lot of fans. Around 6 PM we got in, got our VIP Laminates and after a copple of minutes we could get a early entrance to the floor. Thanks to the early entrance we got awesome places, front row in the middle of the stage! All we now had to do was waiting untill the BOOM hit us…

And yes, at 8:59 PM we heard the announcement: "You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best…The Hottest Band On The World…KISS"!!! They opened with Modern Day Delilah with rising Gene, Paul & Tommy over Eric's drumkit! And the rock & roll party was begun, from the first song to the last one, we sang along, clapped, yelled and because of standing front row we saw everything up close! We could almost touch them. We saw Gene breaths fire and his blood spitting act up close, Paul's amazing jumps up close and we could see KISS sweat, every line of their faces, feel the heat of the flames and the "killing" smoke, lol.

During the show, we got a lot of attention from the band, they looked us in the eyes, throwed guitarpics and more to us. We ended up with 3 Paul guitarpics, 1 Gene & Tommy guitarpic and Eric's drumstick! So you can understand this was a awesome night for us.

KISS played a set of 21 songs, during the guitarsolo of Shock Me, Tommy's guitar wasn't hooked up properly and fall off on the stage. Eric's & Tommy's duel-solo was great, especially during Eric's bazooka trick. Also they played a accoustic version of Beth, sung by Eric, for the first time since years! Besides Modern Day Delilah they played also I'm A Animal & Say Yeah (sounded so good live!) from their latest album Sonic Boom.

This is the setlist: Modern Day Delilah, Cold Gin, Let Me Go Rock `N` Roll, Firehouse (Gene breaths fire) Say Yeah, Deuce, Crazy Crazy Nights, Calling Dr. Love, Shock Me (Duelsolo Eric & Tommy) I´m An Animal, 100,000 Years, I Love It Loud (Gene spits blood) Love Gun, Black Diamond, Detroit Rock City. Encores: Beth (accoustic version) Lick It Up, Shout It Out Loud, I Was Made For Lovin You (Paul flying act), God Gave Rock And Roll To You & Rock And Roll All Night.

Around 11 PM it was all over, we had a awesome experience, what a show!
We where BOOMED by KISS

So, enjoy now a selection of more than 300 photo's I made from KISS Boomed Hamburg…

The next day, we drove about 370 KM to see KISS again in Oberhausen (Germany) First we went to the expo, spoke to a lot of fans who praise me about my weblog, thanks! At the expo all kind of merchandise was for sale, also a special priced Gene Simmons Axe Bass Guitar (used by Gene in Hamburg) including a Meet & Greet with Gene, was for sale for 2800,- Euro's. Outside the expo was the Gene Axe Van parked and we took a copple of pics with it…

At 9 PM it was time to be Boomed again and KISS performed a great show in a sold out arena in Oberhausen! They played the same setlist including the accoutic version of Beth. We stood front row again, right before Tommy! When Shout It Loud was finished all the fans keep singing Shout It Out Loud over and over. Also to hear the fans singing during the bridge part of God Give Rock & Roll To You was very cool.
Here's a pic of us @ the show in Oberhausen…

During this show Spiro made a photo of Marina's tattoo, that was posted later on KISSonline! Here it is amoung other fans tatoos…

KISS was awesome again tonight and we had a blast, 2 awesome shows in 2 days! It was time to recover from the Sonic Boom for a day, because coming up for us was KISS live @ Rock Am Ring…
