Last night it was my very last KISS show of this Alive 35 European tour! KISS played as headliner at the Belgium Graspop Festival in Dessel, started @ 11:30 pm and ended around 1:50 am, so you can say that their last show was on june 29th in Europe (the band flew back @ 3:30 am from Frankfurt to the US!) KISS was a kind of weird band in the list of bands that performed that day. As headliner KISS played for around 50.000 people and a lot of them weren’t fans, but I know for sure that they turned them over with a great performance in the open air, with more pyro’s, bombs, fireworks as usual!
They played the same setlist and sounded great, a little bit tired, but still kicking ass! During 100.000 Years they had some PA problems and the sound went dead 3 times, during Eric’s drumsolo, in the middle of the song and during Paul’s jam/rap! Lucky enough after that the PA stayed on. Also Paul asked the crowd where they from, and when he called out for The Netherlands, we yelled as hard as possible (but I guess not many fans from Holland were there…) All the gimmicks were done and they really like to play open air. Almost 2 am in the morning everything was over, little bit sad that it was our last show, I hope so that they’ll come back next year, as Paul said on stage,
I know for sure that I’ll be there!!!
I did 7 shows this European tour and I’m glad that I had the chance to see them as much I can, never thought that they would come to Europe after all those years. If you ask me which show of these 7 I saw was the best, I’ve to say by far the first show in Oberhausen on may 9th! Why? because I had that day my Meet & Greet with the band, and I’ll never forget that experience! Also the show was awesome that night, seeing them after all those years was just amazing, the setlist was also 3 songs longer than later in the tour. But every show I’ve attended had something special, like the one in Mannheim where I had a good spot in the front row of the stage. Both Arrow & Graspop festival where, on a personal level, very special for me. Seeing KISS in a small hall in Luxemburg was also a gig to remember…
