Finally the wait is over! I’ve tried to get my hands on it for almost 15 years…
Today my Gene Simmons AXE GS-2 Bassguitar arrived!!!
A big package was waiting for me at home…
When I opened up the package I saw Gene’s face looking at me (LOL) on the beautiful Gig Bag…
I couldn’t wait to open up the bag to see the AXE and hold one for the first time in my hands. Wow, what a feeling…what a awesome guitar!!!
The AXE is 34 " in size, has a hard maple neck, rosewood fretboard, diecast tuners and Might Mite pickups in a P/J configuration. Take a closer look to the details…
And here it is hanging on my wall of KISS Guitars, a real eye-catcher!!!
My Paul Stanley Washburn Guitars!
When the new Paul Stanley Washburn Guitar line came out last year, I really like some of them, like the PS400G ones. But I decided not to buy one, because of the high price and because I really would like to add a Gene Simmons guitar to my collection. When I finally got my hands on a Punisher earlier this year (scroll down to read my story about the Punisher) all options where open again, but as owner of 3 PaulSilvertone Guitars in my collection (scroll down to read my story about these guitars) I wasn’t serious thinking to buy one of Paul’s new guitars…
A copple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a local guitarshop with the question if I was interrested in a Paul Stanley Washburn Guitar Set? Sure I was, but still in my mind the expected high price I probely not want to buy this set. The shop-owner invited me to come over and take a look to the guitars and talk about the price. So I went over and expected the guitars, who looked awesome! When I finally hear the offer he makes me for 5 (!) guitars, I knew I shouldn’t pass this by…After a week of serious thinking I decided to take the offer and bought them! So take a look to my Paul Stanley Designed PS400G Electric Washburn Guitar Set…
The set includes 4 guitars with 4 amazingcolor custom Paul graphics…
Each guitar comes with a custom Paul Stanley Gig Bag, Signature Guitar Strap, Cord & 3 Paul Stanley Signature Guitar Picks…
Besides these 4 PS400G electricguitars this offer also included a 5th guitar: a Paul Stanley PS11E Electric/Accoustic Washburn Guitar including a custom Gig Bag, Signature Guitar Strap & 3 Guitar Picks, scroll down to the latest photo to see this guitar…
These Paul Washburn Guitars are very cool, the graphics are awesome and I like the sound of them better than the past guitar line of Paul. I’ve admit that, when I didn’t got that offer, it would have probely take years to collect them…
My Gene Simmons Punisher!
I was searching for this guitar for almost 10 years! It wasn’t easy to find one. And if I find one there where a lot of reasons why I didn’t bought it, like the guitar was in the US, no signature or signature was wiped off, to high price ect. But finally I got him! I’m talking about the Gene Simmons Punisher Guitar…
My black Punisher has never been played! The inlays in the neck of the guitar are still new. All strings are still the original ones. Still has the plastic on the cavity cover (back) and has also the bridge guard… The Punisher came in his original leather guitar case with the Logo. Gene’s original signature is still 100% intact, nothing of the signature has been wiped off! (white dots in pic is just dust)
There are only 1000 made of this Punisher and every guitar has been numbered by Gene himself!
So, after almost 10 years of searching I have finally add The Punisher to my KISS Collection…
Take a look to the KISS Sonic Boom Arnhem Tour Poster that appeared in the city of Arnhem (NL) to promote the upcoming show on june 18th 2010. Thanks to Arno who send me a copy!
In these 2 boxes are the latest new released KISS collectables that I got in…
When you open up the front of those boxes you'll see these figures of Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons!
Both are outfitted in their famous Destroyer era costume and highly authentic!
The 12" figures are poseble in almost every way and are really awesome, cool collectables!
Released by Medicom Toys and only for sale in Japan.
December 9th 2009 is a day we’ll never forget in our KISStory!
That’s the day we did a Meet & Greet Vip Experience with former KISS leadguitarist Ace Frehley!!! I’ve met Ace once in 1995 during a expo in Amsterdam (NL) So because it has been a while for me and Marina never have met him before, we both looked forward to meet him. Everything took place during Ace Anomaly European Tour in Bochum (Germany)
We arrived later at the venue then we had expected, caused by traffic jams, but we had plenty of time after all because the Meet & Greet started around 9:45 PM. A little bit nerveus we went inside the room were Ace sat behind a table…
I went to Ace first, give him a hand a said that it was great to meet him again, I give my items for signing and asked him to sign them personal to me. So he signed my Ace solo Picture Disc and Anomaly CD. Told him how much I loved the CD what he really appreciated. After he signed them it was time for my photo with him and Marina took a coupple of pics. I gave Ace a hand again and thanked him and that I looked forward to his show. Now it was time for Marina to meet Ace, when she sit next to him Ace said to her "Another blond girl " with a smile. He signed her CD and told him that it was great to meet him.
I took some pics and than I asked if it was allright that we could have a photo with Ace and us together. That was no problem and we both sat down next to Ace and we got a great photo with him.
Ace was very relax and friendly during our Meet & Greet with him, even that it all took only a short time, he signed several items for us, we got more pics with him than we had hoped for and Ace was in a great mood! We had a awesome experience!
After the Meet & Greet it was time for Ace show and what can we say, it was great to see him rockin’ on the stage. As said before Ace was in a great mood, he joked a lot on the stage, about how small Bochum was. The sound was great and the band played tight. Ace played 4 songs from his new CD (see for setlist in slideshow) He didn’t use his lightning guitar during New York Groove. Ace played before approx 700 crazy fans. We had a great time at the concert. Because we did the Meet & Greet, it was impossible to get to the front.
On friday november 27th we attended Bruce Kulick’s Private Party in Amsterdam (NL) limited to 120 guests only!
After the doors went open and we got in, we checked out Bruce merchandise, sadly he not got his new album for sale there (release in Europe: Januari 29th, in the US: Februari 16th 2010) but had a new version of his BK3 EP for his European fans for sale! Also there was a book, where you could write a personal message to Bruce, that would be presented to him right after his show. Of course we wrote something in for him with a photo of us.
Around 9 PM Bruce took the stage, he regoniced us right away, becasue we stood right in front of him, lol. He welcomed everyone for coming and told about his busy schedule of last week, with seeing KISS live in Anaheim, Fantasy Camp and of course coming over for his Private Parties in Europe. It was a kind of guitar clinic, but all in a easy comfortable way, all relax. Bruce started with playing the leads of Unholy. Then he gave Marina his guitar, so that he could take of his shirt. She couldn’t believe she got his guitar in her hands! Bruce joked and said; "she asked if see could take it with her "…
Bruce played guitar, backed up by a tape, on the songs as: Liar, Jumping The Shark & Pair Of Dice. At the end he played parts of; Warmachine, No, No, No and God Give Rock & Roll To You II. Between the songs he explained some tricks of his guitarplaying and about his upcoming new BK3 album as well. After the set was done, the special book was presented to Bruce and he was suprised by it and thank everyone who contributed to it.
It was time for a small break before the Meet & Greet started, it al was relax, you could come by his table when you wanted. We waited till the end, Bruce was glad to see us and I start telling him how much I loved the new songs (because they played 90 seconds clippings of all the new songs from his BK3 album on the background during the M&G session and as a bonus they played: Hand Of The King, with Nick Simmons on vocals, in his entirely) Also Bruce appreciated it that Marina runs his fanpage on Myspace. We took photo’s with him and he signed items for us. Again Bruce was very nice to us and we had a awesome evening!
Bruce said this on his site about the evening:
" Sad to leave Holland. Thank you, all my Dutch fans! "
So enjoy the photo’s:

Yesterday we went to the KISS Expo in Kuurne, Belgium. We arrived @ 2 PM at the venue, went inside, got 2 free posters at the door and then it was straight to the merchandise stands. There were about 8 dealers who sold old & new items, KISSonline was there with a lot of new items and of course Lydia Criss was the special guest, who sold & signed her awesome photobook Sealed With A KISS! First we went to Lydia, to let her signed our copy of the book (we had it since it came out) She was very nice and when we asked for a photo, see came behind her table to the front of it and we take some cool pics with her.
We bought some items, like DVD’s and 2 cool Alive 35 Hoodies. Also there was a videomessage from Bruce Kulick, he talked about his upcoming new BK3 album and the private party’s in Europe in november/december (we’ll be there) Around 5 PM it was time for the Q&A with Keith Leroux (KISSonline) He told some cool stories about all the merchandise and that KISS was playing songs from Sonic Boom on the rehersals, like I’m A Animal, When Lightnings Strikes or Danger Us. He was sure that KISS will return to Europe in 2010 (on the expo there was going a rumour around that they’ll play on Graspop again, as they did in 2008)
After that it was time for the Unplugged show of KISStory and right after it Lydia Criss took the stage for her Q&A session. She told some cool stories about Peter Criss when she was married to him. Some of them we never heard off before, like that she has some old filmfootage when KISS did their first tour in Japan and that it’s possible that it could come out on DVD in the future!
Than it was time for the great mega show of KISStory, they opened with Modern Day Delilah and had a great setlist with bombs, smoke and pyro! It was great to talk with fans and a lot came up to me and gave compliments about my site!
First new KISS album in 11 years! SONIC BOOM!!! Out Now!!!
Although I got a copy of the new KISS album " Sonic Boom " 2 weeks ago, I bought last friday the special 2 CD/1 DVD set at my local record store. I got also a free promo CD-single of Modern Day Delilah (!) and a promo poster!
Sonic Boom! Wow! What a album! It's in my CD player all the time!
KISS give us fans what we want, a true all balls out album! There isn't not one song that's bad, from Modern Day Delilah till Say Yeah it's a real pleasure to listen to! Paul & Gene vocals on the tracks are awesome and to my suprise, Eric & Tommy's songs are unbelieveble!
Eric drumparts are strong and Tommy's guitarparts & solo's are so cool, it's great to hear Paul & Gene sharing vocals on several songs, wow what a line-up, what a album!
My favorites are; Modern Day Delilah, Russian Roulette, Stand, All The Glory, When Lightning Strikes & Say Yeah, but as I said before, there isn't any bad song on Sonic Boom! KISS delivered the goods and it was worth the wait, their album is for sure a Sonic Boom!!!
The bonus DVD from Argentina, shot during the Alive 35 World Tour on april 5th 2009, brought back a lot of good memories to me and my girlfriend. We couldn't stop thinking about when KISS was on tour in Europe last year! The footage is raw and it's only a shame that only 6 songs are on it, but we see a great band in action! We just want more…
KISS is back, with a Sonic Boom! So, get this album now!!!
The album contains 11 tracks:
Modern Day Delilah – Stanley 3:40 Russian Roulette – Simmons 4:00 Never Enough – Stanley, Simmons, Thayer 2:16 Yes I Know (Nobody's Perfect) – Stanley, Simmons 3:21 Stand – Stanley 5:20 Hot & Cold – Stanley 3:36 All The Glory – Simmons, Thayer 4:10 Danger Us – Simmons, Singer 3:18 I'm A Animal – Stanley 4:04 When Lightning Strikes – Stanley, Simmons, Thayer 3:38 Say Yah – Stanley, Simmons, Singer 2:25

Sonic Boom comes with a 20 page booklet and will be released as a regulair 1 CD, a 2 CD-set and the special 2-CD/DVD package! Also it will be released on vinyl soon! I got my copies in!
This is my promo CD-single of Modern Day Delilah… And this is my promo CD-single of Say Yeah! This is the bootleg vinyl picture disc of Sonic Boom!br>
I bought Ace Frehley’s new album Anomaly on september 12th here in Holland! It’s the digipack-pyramid version and all I can say; I love his new album, it’s Ace’s best album since 1978!!!
Last friday I got the signed Anomaly CD & Vinyl in, very cool! On Ace site they’re sold out!
Take a look to my signed CD booklet by Ace…
This is the tracklist:
Foxy & Free, Outer Space, Pain In The Neck, Fox On The Run, Genghis Khan, Too Many Faces, Change The World, Space Bear, A Little Below The Angels, Sister, It’s A Great Life, & Fractured Quantum. Bonus iTunes track: The Return Of The Space Bear.
We went to the concert of ESP in Uden, after a 90 minutes drive we arrived at the De Pul, a small venue were about 200 fans show up for the gig. We met a lot of friends and it was great to talk to eachother again.
About 9 pm ESP took over the stage and as ussual it was from the start a party, Chuck a.k.a. Hellvis is always great to rock his bass and his Gene Simmons impression is often hillerious, John joked a lot with his funny stories and one-liners. Of course Bruce guitarplaying was excellent and Eric rocked behind his drumkit.
The band was in a great spirit and it was great to see them perform live again here in Holland.
The only complaint was that there wasn’t allowed to take photo’s during the show! I don’t understand why, because in the past you were allowed to take photo’s at ESP shows.
ESP‘s setlist:
Parasite (KISS), Love (Union), Under My Wheels (Alice Cooper), Unholy (KISS), Live Wire (Mötley Crüe), Domino (KISS), Highway Star (Deep Purple), Master and Slave (KISS), Power To The People (Mötley Crüe), Master & Slave – Continue (KISS), I Wanna Be (Union), Man in the Moon (Scream), Helter Skelter (Beatles), Ace of Spades (Motorhead), I Love It Loud (KISS), Black Diamond (KISS) & Tie Your Mother Down (Queen)
After the show they did a signing session and this time it was better organised than I witness at previous ESP signing sessions, however it seems that they (management?) stopped before everyone got their item signed. Only 1 item was allowed to let signed. Bruce was as always a gentleman and made a comment about my girlfriends Paul Stanley tattoo, Eric signed our photo with him backstage at Alice Cooper from last november.
On monday februari 16th we went to the ESP gig in Verviers, Belgium. It was only a 30 minutes drive for us. The venue, The Spirit Of 66, was small and I guess around 200 people were there. We got a front spot at the stage, before Bruce and this time it was allowed to take photo’s, but only for the first 3 songs. So I took as many pics as was possible.
Again the spirit of the band was great and this evening, we stood so close at the stage that, if we wanted, we could thouch Bruce or John.
After the show was over they came out to do a signingsession on the stage. We had a few things with us for signing, as photo’s, ESP CD cover ect. Everyone signed our stuff. All were very nice, especially Bruce, who was thankfull to us, we got each a guitar plectrum from him! He’s still a great guy! We had a blast!
All we can say, if you can catch ESP live, do so!
Enjoy the pics…

On friday november 21th we went to Essen to see the show of Alice Cooper with on the drums Eric Singer.
After driving for 1 hour in rain and snow, we arrived at the Gruggahalle. First we went for something to eat and around 6 pm we were at the front of the hall, 30 minutes later the doors went open and we went directly into the hall to make sure we got a good spot, we had on the right side of the stage, first in line.
At 8 pm Whitesnake took over the stage and did a 90 minutes set, we saw them earlier this year at the Arrow Rock Festival were they opened for KISS! At 10 pm it was time for Alice Cooper, for me it was the first time I saw him live. Alice opened the show with It’s Hot Tonight. He also did a copple of songs from his new album Along Came A Spider and of course all the classic Cooper hits like, 18, Schools Out, No More Mr. Nice Guy and Poison where played. For us it was cool to see Eric on the drums, he has a different drumstyle than when he’s playing with KISS and it’s cool to see him using a double bass. During Eric’s drumsolo he got some "help" from the guitarplayers who played along with him on some extra snare drums! Alice 90 minutes horror show, including the hanging part, was very cool to watch and we have enjoyed his show.
After the show it was time for us to go backstage. In the room were some other fans, just relaxing and drinking. We wait to see what was comming. We were welcomed by Alice’s tourmanager, who directly said we had the wrong shirts on, lol. First Chuck Garrick came in, he said hi to every one and started talking to the fans. A copple of minutes later Eric came into the room and he spotted us right away and came directly to us, asking us about our KISS shirts and why the German T-shirts still have that rediculois ZZ logo, he didn’t understood it. He than saw our KISS Meet & Greet pics and wanted to see them and asked if we wanted to get them signed, of course he signed them right away, we talked some more and than he went looking for a sandwich. Eric talked to the other fans and after a while he came back and we took some photo’s with him.
We got some Alice Cooper guitarpics, including on from Eric (!) The other bandmembers dropped in and they all just mingled around the fans, talking and taking pictures with them. Eric came back to us and I asked him about the new KISS-album rumours (said they aren’t recording and that Paul was up to the idea of recording a new album) and the upcoming ESP Euro tour in Februari 2009 (said they would have a cool setlist and that Bruce would be spit fire, lol) All in all, it was very cool to experience all what happened backstage, all were relaxed and Eric took really time for us. We stayed for over 90 minutes and saw the band leaving to the tourbus. We had a great time and we’ll never forget it! All we can say, thank you to a special friend!
Last night it was my very last KISS show of this Alive 35 European tour! KISS played as headliner at the Belgium Graspop Festival in Dessel, started @ 11:30 pm and ended around 1:50 am, so you can say that their last show was on june 29th in Europe(the band flew back @ 3:30 am from Frankfurt to the US!) KISS was a kind of weird band in the list of bands that performed that day. As headliner KISS played for around 50.000 people and a lot of them weren’t fans, but I know for sure that they turned them over with a great performance in the open air, with more pyro’s, bombs, fireworks as usual!
They played the same setlist and sounded great, a little bit tired, but still kicking ass! During 100.000 Years they had some PA problems and the sound went dead 3 times, during Eric’s drumsolo, in the middle of the song and during Paul’s jam/rap! Lucky enough after that the PA stayed on. Also Paul asked the crowd where they from, and when he called out for The Netherlands, we yelled as hard as possible (but I guess not many fans from Holland were there…) All the gimmicks were done and they really like to play open air. Almost 2 am in the morning everything was over, little bit sad that it was our last show, I hope so that they’ll come back next year, as Paul said on stage, I know for sure that I’ll be there!!!
I did 7 shows this European tour and I’m glad that I had the chance to see them as much I can, never thought that they would come to Europe after all those years. If you ask me which show of these 7 I saw was the best, I’ve to say by far the first show in Oberhausen on may 9th! Why? because I had that day my Meet & Greet with the band, and I’ll never forget that experience! Also the show was awesome that night, seeing them after all those years was just amazing, the setlist was also 3 songs longer than later in the tour. But every show I’ve attended had something special, like the one in Mannheim where I had a good spot in the front row of the stage. Both Arrow & Graspop festival where, on a personal level, very special for me. Seeing KISS in a small hall in Luxemburg was also a gig to remember…

On june 26th it was time for my next KISS show. After work I drived for about 2 hrs till arrived at the Rockhall in Esh-Alzette (Luxembourgh) in the middle of nowhere, it was located in a factory-erea. It was for the very first time ever that the band played in Luxembourgh. At 6:30 pm I was at the hall and on this warm sunny day a lot of people turned up. The Rockhall can hold up to 6500 people and I think it was close to a sold out show, with this 6500 max it was a kind off intimed KISS show. At 7 pm the doors went open and I went directly to the merchandise stand, because at the Arrow Rock Festival the tourbooks were sold out, I really wanted to buy one with the original logo. I bought several, for some friends too, and I saw that they’re sold a lot more items than on the German shows, like Keychains, Guitarstraps, Necklaces and more. So I did some shopping there. Than I went to the stage and I got a spot, front row, at the left of the stage, at Gene’s place! So I could take some good pics later.
KISS started their show later as usual, around 9:40 pm they hitted the stage and from the start the crowd went nuts. The band was tight and funn to watch. It was hot in there and secrurity give the fans at the front row water, so I glady welcome the waterbottles. At the spot where I’m stood, right before Gene, I got some cool interaction with the Demon, at several times he looked right into my eyes…Also Tommy interact with me. I think they’re starting to reconize me, lol. They played the same setlist and all the tricks were done. Did I mention that Gene’s son Nick was there too?Paul is still one of the greatest frontmen of all time, I really enjoyed his stage performance every time! KISS played till 11:50 pm and then it was all over. Outside the hall they sold all kinds of bootleg merchandise, like T-Shirts & Posters, so I bought a copple of them. I had a great time again, just 1 more show to go!

On june 18th I went to see my 5th KISS show in Stuttgart (Germany) I had to drive for almost 5 hrs and I was glad I stayed the night in a hotel, so that I don’t had to drive all the way back after the gig. I arrived around 4 pm at my hotel, checked in, got something to eat and arrived at the venue around 6 pm. Of course I was approach by fans who know me from this site, talked about the shows I had seen on this tour ect.
I had a seat ticket on the first row at the left side of the stage (this time took some special effects photo’s) and it was almost a sold out. This time I ran into Dean again, thanked him that he got my Meet & Greet Photo signed in Mannheim and Dean said he would give my message through to the "boys". I also saw Doc walking several times between the crowd. KISS gave another great show, but Paul’s voice seems to be in trouble again. Gene & Eric where fooling around with eachother, at one time Eric threw some drumsticks to him, lol. Tommy was also great to watch on stage. Setlist was the same as at previous shows.
Here are the photo's, enjoy...

So finally on June 15th KISS was in my home country, for the first time in 9 years! The band was headliner on the big Arrow Rock Festival, besides KISS also other bands performed, like Def Leppard & Whitesnake. Around 2 pm we arrived at the festival, as a luxe ticket holder, you became a parkplace right before the intrance of the place. Also you got a free T-Shirt and a place right before the big stage! And we could get free drinks all the day…
It was a rainy, cold day, but we had a awesome time. Also all the time during the day, people came up to me and give me compliments on my site. I met with friends from several forums ect. Fans came to the festival from worldwide and about 30.000 people saw KISS that night.
Around 9 pm it was time for the Hottest Band In The World. And I saw, once again a great show, for me a very special show…KISS did all the tricks in the show, even Paul did his flying act. Because of our good spots on the right side of the stage we had a lot of interacting with Tommy, he was smiling to us and looked us right in theeyes! Paul did wear his jacket later in the show and during the show he mentioned the KISS Army Netherlands! Also he hold up the Dutch flag on stage. Here’s the setlist:
Deuce, Strutter, Got To Choose, Hotter Than Hell (with Gene’s firebreathing) Nothin’ To Lose, C’mon And Love Me, Parasite, She (with Tommy’s Guitarsolo) 100.000 Years (With Eric Drumsolo and a cool jam session) Cold Gin, Let Me Go Rock & Roll, Black Diamond, Rock & Roll All Night, Shout It Out Loud, Lick It Up (with Won’t Get Fooled Again Part) I Love It Loud (With Gene’s bloody bassolo) I Was Made For Lovin You, Love Gun (with Paul’s flying act) Fans singing the Dutch National Athem & Detroit Rock City.
After the show I picked up my copy of the Live CD and special Arrow Luxe T-shirt. KISS did only sell a small part of their merchandise at this festival, tourbooks sold out fast, so I missed mine, but will buy a copy on one of the other shows.
I came accros this photo of me and my girlfriend (right side) that was taking from the videoscreen during KISS performance @ the Arrow Rock Festival!

On june 12th I went to my third and last Ace Frehley show, after seeing him in London & Cologne earlier. Around 4 pm I arrived at the 013 venue, with some other fans we went to grap something to eat & drink before the show started. Before we got let into the venue, we talked to a lot of fans, coming from the UK, Belgium & Germany. When the doors opened I directly went to the stage and got me a good spot, right before Ace!
Around 9 pm the intro started and right behind that Ace took the stage and started with Rip It Out and from that the crowd jumped and sing along with him. The band sounded much better and also the music wasn’t that loud. Ace played the same, shorter set list as in Cologne, instead of the full setlist as in London (that included songs as Hard Times) Ace had funnplaying that night and the interaction between him and the fans was great. I thought that this show as even a little bit better than in London. I’ve really enjoyed this one. 90 minutes later it was all over and I’ve to wait till next year as Ace promissed to us, that he would be back, why? Because Ace told you so…
Setlist: Rip It Out, Parasite, Snow Blind (incl. I Want You ending) Rock Soldiers, Breakout, Into The Void, Strange Ways, Shout It Out Loud, New York Groove, 2000 Man, Shock Me, Rocket Ride, Deuce, Love Gun, Cold Gin (incl. Black Diamond ending)
Enjoy the photo's...

This was my second show I attended of this Euro tour. Together with Marina (who I did the Meet & Greet with in Oberhausen) we saw I awesome show again, we were right in front of the left side of the stage and had a great view of everything that happened, like that Gene was brushing his hair several times, lol. Paul’s voice sounded great to me and he was smiling all the time, the guys had a great time. They played the same setlist as the nights before. With standing on the left side, very close to the confetti cannons, when they went off, oh man it was as everything was white, this was so cool. I had a great time and was back in my KISS rush again, caused by this follow up after our Meet & Greet in Oberhausen…
Marina & me had our M&G photo’s with us and we the only reason we did that is because we wanted to get them signed by KISS So, only to figure out how we could get those 2 pics to KISS So the only one who could help me was Doc or Dean, it all depends wich one I would see first, so it was Dean and we had the to go for a Soundcheck at the last moment, but when we talked about it with Dean he said all Soundchecks were now official cancelled. So I had to come up with another plan right now.
So I waited till everyone had their M&G instructions and went to Dean again, simply asked him if he could do anything for us, explained to him that we did a M&G with KISS in Oberhausen on may 9th. He asked us to show him the pics, so we did and to our big suprise he took them with him and said to us that he would do his best for us We had to look for him after the M&G session this night or come over to him next day in Oberhausen (told him that I was there too) So we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. Because of the good spots right before the stage that night in Oberhausen we didn’t leave to find Dean, but I would find him the day after in Oberhausen.
Almost at the end of the show we saw Dean taking pics at the front of the stage, he saw us and waved to us. Later that night he came to us with a envelop containing our pictures, and said to us that KISS did sign them for us So, after the show we looked at the signed pics (see it on my site, as it’s 1 of the headphoto’s) and could not believe how cool they looked now signed by Gene, Paul, Eric & Tommy This was for sure the topping on the cake, we can thank Dean not enough to do this for us!
They played over 2 hours long and the venue was almost sold out. Merchandise was the same. I also picked up my Live CD from the show and recordings are great! So, here are the photo’s, enjoy…

KISS Live In Oberhausen 2:
The day after Mannheim I travelled to Oberhausen, to see them for the third time. It was KISS second date in Oberhausen. This time I had seat ticket right at the right side of the stage with a great view. This emotional show was great again, KISS played over 2 hours and did a real cool version of 100.000 Years. Also Gene almost take a fall on stage! Paul tried to make this "night 2"better as "night 1" with his interacting with the crowd. They where in good spirit again and the crowd was jumping from the start and almost all the sitting people were standing throughout the whole show! The venue was almost sold out. The setlist was the same. Picked up my Live CD and also bought a cool bootleg T-shirt, with on the back all the cities with dates.

May 9th 2008, We’ll never forget this day in our lives!!!
Why? This day have changed our lives forever!
Finally we could see a KISS show again, my first one since my last one 7 years ago in Australia! But this kick off show of the Euro tour in Oberhausen (Germany) wasn’t the only reason why this date will allways be special for me…
We also had a meet & greet with Gene, Paul, Eric & Tommy that day!
Here's our story!
After a 90 minutes car drive I arrived, together with my brother in a sunny and hot Oberhausen. Checked out the venue and than waited for Marina to arrive, she also did the M&G. We went to the expo to look for KISS stuff ect. Spend a little time there and around 3 pm we were back at the Arena to get our laminate, T-shirt and instructions for the M&G. A very friendly Dean Snowden told me everything I wanted to know and that we had to be back in the venue at 7:30 pm, with our stuff we would like to have signed. So we went to a place to meet friends and with some cool drinks and something to eat (however because of the nerves we almost couldn’t eat) talked to other fans and enjoyed those hrs till it was time for the M&G.
2 days earlier I received a email with the latest M&G details, stated that you could bring guitars in for signing. So I decided to take 1 of my Paul Washburn Guitars with me, along with some records and photo’s. Finally it was time, nerves kicked in now really bad (lol) and together with Marina we got into the venue to the meeting point. With us there were around 20 fans there for the M&G (more than I thought) and at 8 pm we got backstage, to a room, with on the walls the Alive/35 logo and banners with the KISSology DVD’s (this was the same room where the pressconference was on thursday) We got the last instructions from Dean and a copple of minutes later the door went open and with a loud of cheering by us fans, they enter the room…Gene, Paul, Eric & Tommy!!!
The Meet & Greet:
The guys were very kind and thanked us al for coming, first it was time to take the photo with the band. A suprise to us all was that we could also use our own camera to make photo’s!!! When it was my time for the pic I give all the guys a hand and Genesaid how are you doing and Paul said something like great to see you, Tommy said welcome and Eric said something too but I cann’t remember what, lol. Time to take my 2 pics with the band and when I saw how my 2 pics have turned out, I couldn’t be more hapier, they’re incredible!
After the photoshoot was over, the guys started to mingle around the fans, so it was time to got my items signed. Paul signed my guitar right away, also his solo picture disc and a photo with me and his self-portrait print. And when he saw that photo, he said that’s really cool! Than Eric & Tommy signed my Rock The Nation DVD and they’re both were very friendly and Tommy is just a great guy, no bad worth about him from me! Last one was Gene and he signed his solo picture disc, Asshole CD and a Family Jewels photo.
The meet & greet was going to its end and the guys got ready to get out of the room very slowly, Paul was the first leaving, with a little later Eric and than Tommy. Gene was still in the room and I was lucky enough to got a photo with him alone, my favorite member! Gene was great and stayed the longest in the room, no arrogance at all.
After the guys where gone (snif) we all got our programm (with a extra photo inside) and to our suprise it was signed by the whole band! And than it was over, it was something special I’ll never forget, it was great to meet the guys in a relax situation, everyone took their time for me and I’m glad I could meet them…
Here is some short footage of my Meet & Greet and Marina’s with KISS… (Note: my photoshoot took longer, this footage shows only a copple of seconds of it!)
The show:
And than it was time for the show, finally the wait was over and when I heard The Who with Won’t Get Fooled Again I knew it was only a copple of minutes before the return of KISS in Europe! We had a good place on the floor, almost at the front – right of the stage. Around 9:25 pm we heard the famous words: Allright Oberhausen, You Wanted The Best…And off it went with Deuce with Gene, Paul & Tommy coming down from a platform. From the start of the show till the end the 12.500 crowd went nuts and I had a great time. The guys looked great, sounded great, performed great, it was one of my best KISS shows I ever saw. The band enjoyed it as much I did, the interacting between the fans and the band was just awesome! Also Tommy did a great guitar solo with playing his guitar behind his head, looked really cool and he was just great on stage! Eric played his drums like it was his second nature. Gene did all the tricks and this time he did his bloody bass solo during I Love It Loud, however Eric started the song while Gene hadn’t started his solo and he turned to Eric to let him stop, lol. Also the curtain on the right side stucked, Gene’s riser went to slow but these where all the little mistakes. Paul did however stole the show, after his heartproblem last year, he jumped, rann, talked as never before, wow what a show! Also this was a show with the most explosions, fireworks and lots of lots of confetti I ever saw at a KISS concert! I had the time of my life! I also saw Doc walking before them stage and along the crowd, he was very nice when I asked if he would go on a photo together with me, no problem.
KISS played first all the Alive! tracks and after that they did songs from after 1975. This is the full setlist:
Deuce, Strutter, Got To Choose, Hotter Than Hell, Firehouse (Gene spits fire) Nothing To Lose (Vocals Eric) C’mon And Love Me, Parasite, She (Tommy’s guitar solo) Watching You, Rock Bottom, 100.000 Years ( Eric’s drumsolo) Cold Gin, Let Me Go Rock & Roll, Black Diamond (Vocals Eric) Rock & Roll All Night. Encores: Shout It Out Loud, Lick It Up (mixed with Won’t Get Fooled Again) Gene’s Bloody Bass Solo, I Love It Loud, I Was Made For Lovin’ You, Love Gun (Paul’s Flying) and Detroit Rock City.
KISS played till 11:40 pm, so about 135 minutes and 22 songs later it was all over, but I and Marina had the best day of my lifes, a historic meet & greet and a killer KISS show. Also my brother who hasn’t see a KISS show before, was very impressed.
