On june 12th we saw KISS Live In Amsterdam (The Netherlands) on Marina's birthday!
We we're so excited to see our favorite band again, we thought it would never happen again and that when we saw them last year in Amsterdam it would be their last show in Europe! but hey, here we are and ready to rock and roll tonight!
We arrived at 7 PM at the Ziggo Dome in hot weather. When we were inside the venue, we checked out the merchandise, bought some T-shirts, tourbook & pins. We got to our seats, to Gene's side, and a copple of minutes for 9 PM it was time for the Hottest Band In The World...KISS!
As soon the curtain was gone, we saw Gene, Paul & Tommy coming down each on the platforms to the stage with a lot of smoke and fire, behind them on the drumriser was Eric coming down too!
Here's our video of Detroit Rock City:
KISS played tight and sounded great! There was a great vibe.
So we enjoyed every minute of the show and we sang so loud with each and every song, like Shout It Out Loud, Deuce, Warmachine, & Say Yeah!
Here's our video of: Cold Gin with Tommy's guitarsolo:
Every time we'll see KISS we got the chills and are so excited to see a show again, we cann't get enough of it.
After Lick It Up they had a "new" song added to their setlist, that we haven't heard live for a long time: Makin' Love, here's our video:
Also not forget to report, that Gene not wear his skin guards on his legs, probaly to be more comfortable and mobile or because of the heat.
When it was time for Gene's solo, he stood on the middle ufo platform to do his bloody bass solo and than the whole platform went up above the stage and he performe his signature song God Of Thunder.
Here's our video of it:
Gene's solo is always 1 of our favorite moments of the show!
The stage had some new elements, at each side and below Eric's drumkit there were extra videoscreens placed. Another favorite moments of the show is when Paul flew over the crowd to the little stage back of the venue to perform Love Gun.
Here's our video:
Of course there were a lot of pyro's, smoke & flames that makes a show a KISS show. After Black Diamond they went of stage for a small break and the first encore was Beth with Eric behind the piano. After Do You Love Me and the KISS balloons coming down it was time for their grand finale: Rock & Roll All Night, with a lot of confetti, bombs, pyro and smoke. Gene & Tommy went up high on the risers with Paul smashing his guitar.
Here's our video of Do You Love Me & Rock & Roll All Night:
Than it was all over, their last show in The Netherlands ever! We were sweaty & hot, but feeling so excited, what a show, we had a blast!
We knew this wasn't our final show ever yet, we've a few more ahead of us. Coming up next is: Brussels...
This was the setlist: Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud, Deuce, Warmachine (Gene breathes fire) Heaven's On Fire, I Love It Loud, Say Yeah, Cold Gin (with Tommy's guitar solo) Lick It Up, Makin' Love, Calling Dr. Love, Psycho Circus (with Eric's drum solo) God Of Thunder (with Gene's bass solo & flying to the platform above the stage) Love Gun (Paul flying to stage) I Was Made For Lovin' You & Black Diamond.
