Our Trip To KISS In Oslo!!!

When we heard that KISS would come to Europe for only 1 festival in Oslo we thought that we should be there. So, we went over to Oslo for a long weekend and saw KISS @ the Holmenkollen Sommerfestival on june 30th!!!
We arrived on thursday, after checking in our hotel we explored some highlights of the city, where we came by a Holmenkollen booth and grabbed some KISS event posters there.
Also I found in a winestore the last 2 bottles of the KISS Zin Fire Wine, they're ours now!

On friday we did some sightseeing and found out that KISS where staying in the Grand Hotel. We checked the place out and decided that we would come back to the hotel after dinner.
So, we did and after a while Nick was coming out of the hotel heading to a car who brought him to a show, also we saw Paul Stanley & Tommy Thayer in the lobby waving to us. We spotted Eric Singer & Doc Mcgee on the balcony. A little bit later Eric came out and after his visit in a store we approach him and meet him briefly!
Check out the photo's below...

On saturday it was time for the festival located at the ski jump at Kollen. We arrived at 12 PM and there where only a few people waiting to get in. We got in fast, checked the place out, brought some food, drinks & KISS tour shirts and went straight to the main stage where we managed a spot right in front row of the stage!

So, now all we had to do was waiting untill KISS would head the stage!

At 9:38 it was time and KISS took over Kollen. From the first song to the encores it was a party! Singing along with the songs and we watch every move that happened on stage. KISS was in a good spirit and they enjoyed themselves and played their ass off! There wasn't a new stage (yet) but the band whore their new "Monster" costumes and Paul had his feathers on, we liked that.

There wheren't no real solo's except a shorted version of Eric's & Tommy's drum/guitar duell including the bazooka gimmick. Gene aswell Paul did not fly, but Gene did spit fire and blood. His blood spitting was amazing, because we stood so close to him and we hoped we could catch some blood, lol.
But we where lucky enough to catch 3 guitarpicks, 1 of Gene and 2 of Paul (1 was the special Oslo photo pick!)

KISS played only classic songs, they opened with Detroit Rock City and it was a suprise to us to hear Makin' Love that night!
The setlist was: Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud, Deuce, Makin' Love, I Love It Loud, Crazy Crazy Nights, Shock Me, Calling Dr. Love, 100.000 Years, Love Gun & Black Diamond. Encoures: Lick It Up, I Was Made For Lovin' You & Rock & Roll All Night.

Before we knew it was all over, we could believe it that we saw KISS on Oslo!
We saw a great show and KISS kicked ass!
We cann't wait to see them on the KISS Kruise II on Halloween later this year.
Here's a selection of photo's of the show, enjoy...

After the show was over, there was a lot of Bootleg KISS merchandise for sale, like T-shirts, hoodies and more. We bought a couple of T-shirts and headed over to the after party in John Dee's club. It was very crowded and there was only room for 120 fans. We meet some members of the KISS Army Norway and we where very welcomed.
On sunday it was time for us to fly home, but we'll never forget this trip!
